What is an independent agent?

An independent agent has contracts with multiple insurance companies. Independent agents are compensated with commission and contingent income. We are not employees of any insurance company, we are entrepreneurs. Agents who sell State Farm or American Family insurance are not independent agents.

Your name and number is on my policy, do I contact you for service?

It depends, You should always call your agent for service first. If you cannot reach him or her then you can call the company if they offer direct customer service. We have many agents who work for us, please visit our agent page for more info.

My payment is late, what should I do to prevent a lapse in coverage?

Some insurance companies we sell for have grace periods, others do not. Please check your billing/cancellation notice from the company to see if there is a grace period or give us a call. If there is not a grace period please contact us to arrange to make your payment at our office. We can bind coverage after we have received your payment.

What determines my auto insurance rate?

The basic factors for determining your auto rate are as follows: age/type of vehicle, age of driver, violation/claim history, credit history. Discounts also come into play. Ask us about what type of discounts your company offers.

My rates went up, what should I do?

Call us!! There is no need for you to shop your policy with any other company. Insurance companies are always changing underwriting and pricing, so the cheapest company on the block 2 years ago may not be the best deal today. We will be able to review your current coverages and rates and shop them with our companies. Also keep in mind that we can offer you things that captive agents (State Farm & American Family) and 1-800-Insurance companies (Esurance & GEICO) cannot and that is choice combined with dedicated service from longtime River Falls area residents. Let us do the shopping for you!
